Some Of My Favourite Weddings From 2014

I am in the very fortunate position to do a job that I love, and I love each and every wedding that I do. Each year there are always a few weddings that stand out from the rest for various reasons.  These are just 4 of them.

Aishing and Bojan - 12th July 2014 - Clogheen Church and Innishannon House Hotel

Aishling and Bojan lived in America so Aishlings lovely mum June did her wedding planning for her.  It was such a pleasure to work with June and she did so much work to organise her daughters wedding.  Aishling knew exactly the look she wanted for her wedding and I was delighted to be able to create this for her.  Aishling chose calla lilies for herself and her bridesmaids and callas for the buttonholes.  For her flowergirls she went for a crown of gyp and baskets of gyp.  Aishling had bought a beautiful aisle runner for her wedding which we decorated with Rose Petals on either side.  We also had vases in 2 sizes with candles and petals on the aisle.  June supplied lanterns which we also used on either side of the aisle. The aisle was also decorated with tall stands with rose balls.  For their venue decoration in lovely Innishannon House Hotel we supplied chair covers with an ivory lace sash and a tiny wicker hearts.  The centrepieces were the rose balls from the church on a vase with a calla lily in the base and rose petals.  It was a pleasure to deal with Aishling, Bojan and June and all the family.  I really enjoyed working on this wedding.

Fiona and Alan - 15th August 2014 - Ballincollig Church and Fernhill House Hotel

Fiona and Alan are a lovely couple and alan was involved in their wedding planning from the start which was lovely to see. Fiona wanted an unstructured country style bouquet and liked the idea of using hessian and lace with her flowers.  She also chose hessian and lace for her pew ends with fragrant lavender.  For alan and fionas reception the décor was kept neutral with white chair covers and ivory lace sashes and a fairylight backdrop behind the top table pink mood lighting to add warmth. To add a pop of colour they chose the willow spheres for their centrepieces with brightly coloured gerbera on a tall martini vase.

Fiona and Alan were lovely to work with and I enjoyed every second of working on their wedding.

Ashlea and Craig 6th September 2014 - Mogeely Church and Castlemartyr Resort

From the minute I met Ashlea and Craig I knew that I liked them.  They were a lovely warm couple and their love for each other was clear for all to see.  I loved their ideas and was so thrilled when they chose me to do their flowers.  For Ashlea is was hydrandea all the way in soft shades of pinks and whites.  In lovely mogeely church we used single heads of hydrangea for the pew ends and also decorated the bride and grooms chairs and arch with matching flowers.  They also had tall arrangement of hydrangea on the aisle. Hydrangea is one of my favourite flowers and I loved using these soft tones.  Craig liked the idea of a red carpet outside the church and I promised that I would do that for him if it wasn't raining, and luckily it was a lovely September day.

In the hotel we decorated the candelabra with circles on flowers and on the other tables we had tall vases with large hydrangea arrangements and roses in the base of the vase.  The other finishing touches were white lace sashes on the chairs and a Love Heart Ferrero Stand to spoil the guests.

What Ashlea and Craig Said;
Dear Iris
Thank You so much for creating our dreams on our wedding day. When we first saw the flowers ...it really was breathtaking as you had captured everything we had asked for. You were so thorough and professional throughout and had some great ideas for us. We loved it all. Thanks again. Mr and Mrs Wilkins xxxx

Rhonda and Dennis - 14th November 2014 - St Olivers Church

When I first met rhonda she knew exactly what she wanted - vibrant colours and an unstructured bouquet.  I had done rhondas sister Cearas wedding previously in the same church but they went for totally different looks.  I loved rhondas ideas and was thrilled to be part of  it.  Rhonda added orange and burgundy flowers to wicker hearts and they added a lovely pop of colour in the church.

Rhonda and Dennis are a very fun couple who love life and this came through in their choice of flowers.

What Rhonda and Dennis Said;
Iris WOW is the only word I can use you totally exceeded my expectations with the flowers ! If i could of brought my bouquet on honeymoon I would of! The flowers and decorations were just AMAZING . Thank you so much on behalf of me and my husband u really made our day personal and special for us !!
